Robinhood Plans Real World Asset Exchange Amid RWA Growth on ALGO, XLM, APT AllinCrypto May 21, 2025
According to Forbes, trading platform Robinhood has submitted a 42-page proposal to the SEC on ways to regulate Wall Street assets, potentially exposing blockchain ecosystems to $30 trillion in RWAs.
Robinhood’s document reportedly contained benefits of bringing real-world assets onchain and creating a Real World Asset Exchange (RRE)
The news comes as Ondo Finance, Chainlink, and JPMorgan complete an industry-first cross-chain RWA swap.
Robinhood RWA Exchange arrives as billions in RWA flow onchain
Robinhood’s Real World Asset Exchange would become a trading platform that offers offchain trade matching combined with onchain settlements, creating an efficient and transparent trading platform.
To help with regulatory oversights, Robinhood has proposed that the platform integrate Know Your Customer (KYC) with Anti-Money Laundering tools for compliance standards.

Robinhood’s intrusion into real-world assets comes at a time when the first cross-chain real-world asset swap was made in a collaboration between Chainlink, JPMorgan, and Ondo Finance.
The swap was made between ONDO’s Ondo Chain and JPMorgan’s private blockchain network Kinexys.
In recent weeks, Tokenized US Treasuries exceeded $7 billion in TVL for the first time in history, with stablecoins reaching a milestone of $232B.
Blockchain networks such as Stellar Lumens, Aptos, Algorand, and Etheruem are leading real-world asset tokenization by hosting Circle’s USDC, Franklin Templeton’s money funds, and various tokenized stocks.
Private credit and US Treasuries are the top assets according to RWA.xyz statistics, with billions pouring in from the traditional financial world and into onchain protocols.
RWA to boost crypto industry in the near future
Part of Robinhood’s venture would be a push for token-asset equivalence with tokens representing the underlying asset itself instead of a derivative or synthetic version.
Such a proposal would streamline the settlement process and custody, making it easier for brokerages to make use of tokenized real-world assets in the existing regulatory landscape.
Within 2025, the markets are due for large-scale RWA adoption, which will be led by Ondo Finance, Chainlink, and more. The outcomes of RWA adoption will drive future value into the crypto market.
