The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) unveiled the 35 members of its newly formed Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC), a body that’s been tasked with advising the agency on the intersection of crypto, finance, and regulations in the US.

The committee replaces the former Technology Advisory Committee and will help shape US policy as digital assets and blockchain technologies increasingly influence US traditional markets.

Among the high-profile members are Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, alongside executives from Robinhood, Uniswap Labs, Kraken, Gemini and others.

Major crypto and derivatives firms are also involved in the IAC, including traditional market infrastructure leaders from CME Group, Nasdaq and The DTCC.

According to Chairman Michael S. Selig, the Innovation Advisory Committee will support the development of “clear rules of the road” for crypto and help future-proof US markets as Congress considers expanding the CFTC’s authority over cryptoassets.

The committee is expected to provide new recommendations on how emerging technologies are transforming derivatives markets and wider financial infrastructures.

Brad Garlinghouse’s inclusion in the memer list places Ripple at the center of US regulatory discussions.

Direct engagement with the CFTC could strengthen Ripple’s positioning within the Web3 landscape, helping ensure that regulatory frameworks accommodate enterprise blockchain use cases and give a regulatory boost to networks like the XRP Ledger.
