Aviva Investors, the asset management wing of UK’s Aviva, has announced a new partnership with Ripple to explore tokenizing traditional fund structures on the XRP Ledger.

The collaboration will be Ripple’s first partnership with a UK-based investment manager as institutional interest in bringing regulated financial products onchain grows.

As part of the initiative, Ripple will support Aviva Investors in issuing and managing tokenized funds on the XRP ledger.

The move is a first for Aviva Investors as they look to integrate tokenization into existing products, with both firms planning to work closely throughout 2026 and beyond.

Tokenization of real-world assets has become a large narraitve among financial firms, aiming to utilize blockchain technology to unlock new ways of doing business.

According to data from RWA.xyz, the total value of stablecoins has reached $295.07B, as stablecoins represent real-world currencies in digital, tokenized forms.

The partnership with Aviva Investors will strengthen Ripple’s footprint in the UK, aligning the company with one of the regions largest financial institutions at a time when tokenization is moving from pilots to real-world deployments for payments and other use cases.

For the XRP ecosystem as a whole, the development could drive increased interest into the XRP ecosystem, bringing more liquidity to the XRPL as tokenized funds are issued and settled on the network.

The partnership also supports the much wider narrative that the XRP Ledger is evolving beyond payments into a platform for institutional asset tokenization services, potentially enhancing its long-term relevance in global financial markets.
