Kabila, a Web3 NFT platform built on Hedera has joined the MiCA Crypto Alliance, moving to align the Kabila ecosystem with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

As part of the partnership, a MiCA-compliant white paper for KBL, Kabila’s native token issued on the Hedera network, will be drawn up.

In the meantime, it’s Hedera DevDay 2026 and Project Cross Ledger Protocol (CLPR) was given a moment on-stage, showing a push towards more interoperability.

Kabila’s NFT marketplace, non-custodial web3 wallet, Hedera creator toolset and token-gated community groups would be aligned to a clear regulatory structure as MiCA comes into force. The new paetnerhsip can aid Kabila’s expansions as more support is given from the HBAR Foundation to web3 initiaitves on the Hedera network.

Manu Cabrera, Kabila CEO:

“Joining the MiCA Crypto Alliance allows Kabila to align our NFT hub with the highest regulatory standards, ensuring that our token, our platform, and our community are fully prepared for what’s ahead. But this isn’t just about Kabila.

One of the things that excites us most about this partnership is the chance to support other NFT projects in understanding their obligations under MiCA.”

While MiCA tends to exclude non-fungible NFTs, it clarifies that large NFT collections or fractionalized assets may be considered fungible and therefore can fall within disclosure requirements. This means NFT projects operating in the EU could require compliant white papers themselves.

By working with the MiCA Crypto Alliance, Kabila could be aiming to reduce regulatory uncertainty around the platform with potential plans for expansion in the near future.

Hedera DevDay 2026 and the Role of CLPR

The announcement comes as Hedera DevDay 2026 kicked off on February 17. Richard Bair, VP Software Engineering ar Hashgraph spoke on Project Cross Ledger Protocol (CLPR).

Interest and developments of CLPR could be related to a push towards more interoperable, compliance-ready infrastructures for Hedera. There was also the introduction of Project Full-Send, which aims to remove artificial throttles on Hashgraph and unleash its full potential without limits.

Bair spoke on Hedera’s scalability and how CLPR could lead to more natural bridges for Hedera, avoiding the need of third-party bridges like LayerZero.
