FedEx has joined the Hedera Council, the governing system that is overseeing the Hedera network. As a Council member, FedEx will operate as a node operator and hold equal voting rights alongside other global enterprises such as Google, IBM and Arrow Electronics.
The move shows a deeper commitment by FedEx to distributed ledger technology (DLT) as part of its broader digital transformation strategy.
FedEx moves more than 15M packages daily around the world, operating within one of the most complex global supply chain networks which distributed ledgers can help with.
What FedEx Membership Means for the Hedera HBAR Ecosystem
As a Hedera Council member, FedEx will actively participate in decisions related to Hedera’s services and long-term direction.
Sources believe the company aims to support the development of trusted digital infrastructures that can verify and share data securely across multiple stakeholders without centralizing all of the control.

FedEx would also benefit from utilizing distirbuted ledger technology as part of global supply chains, making cross-border interactions cheaper, faster and more durable.
Hedera’s enterprise-grade DLT provides a neutral trust layer designed for speed, security and scalable features that align with FedEx’s internaitonal needs and cross-border data coordination.
FedEx’s membership also leads to more legitimacy of Hedera’s enterprise capabilities and reinforces HBAR’s position as a token for future use cases and its aBFT network viable for global commerce.
Overall, FedEx will bring logistical expertise and data management insights into the council, which could shape real-world use cases of Hedera Hashgraph in industries that need supply chain transparency and interoperable digital documentations.
